Why its great to live in Christchurch, NZ

Even though its our winter here in the garden city, the sun was shining early on, so I decided to go for a mtb ride at Bottle Lake Forest, this is a very large recreation area for walkers, mtbers and horse riders, not less than 10 mins cycle from where I live. So after too long an absence of off road cycling, I decided to go for an early morning ride.
The high point overlooking the forest
a good section of one of the tracks, runs along the beach and as I was working out what shot to take, this horse and rider came along, so how cool is that!! That would be just awesome to be able to ride along a beach like this, 10am pic was taken

Myself going for it
Bottle Lake is just great, plenty of tracks easy and hard, there is also a hard group of mtbers who do night riding this time of year, so might have to check that for the blog.
thought for the day ' No plan is worth the papaer it is printed on unless it starts you doing something.
