Svetlana will share her methods and techniques that will allow you to create a transparent and luminous result made from many subtle washes of colour. In her classes you will learn every aspect about watercolours ranging from drawing to painting.
Biography:
Few artists can duplicate the emotional depth Svetlana Orinko achieves in her spectacular watercolours. Every composition is carefully chosen with great attention to detail, reflecting a moment of life. The viewer's reward is grand interconnectedness with the artist's favourite moments, all familiar to our own experiences as well.
Svetlana artworks cover a diverse range of subjects. Her inspiration to paint began in her early teens. Her 10 years of Academic Art training included the “Old Masters Techniques” began at the age of 12 in Russia’s Ukraine. She completed her Art and Design Degree before arriving in New Zealand in 1992.
Today, Svetlana, continues to paint numerous, beautiful works that reflect a mastery of form and intricate involvement with light. She has chosen watercolour as her medium, because it allows her to build transparent and luminous result made from many subtle washes of colour.
She is passionate about life, passionate about art. “I try to capture a certain introspective in whatever subject I choose", she comments 'and deal with the vulnerability that all of us, sometimes feel." Rarely staging the scenes for her painting, Svetlana comments, "I'm really trying to evoke an emotion from the viewer rather than deliver a specific message” She received a lot of publicity in "NZ Gardener" Dec.1998 and "NZ House & Garden" June 1999 magazine. She has won numerous awards and has a strong international following. Her evolving talent will see her become one of the most sought-after artists of her time.
