Suzuki GS650 motorbike and a Canon LiDE25 Scanner

Hi everyone
Now I guess you might all be wondering what the connection could be with a Suzuki GS 650 and a Canon scanner? Well, today I have just picked up a new scanner from my flybuys and have to say, that this model is very easy to use, comes with software cd and scans photos pretty good too. This model plugs straight into the usb port and there is enough room to place akward books under there. Only thing I was suprised at, was how noisey it was? But guess you get used to it.
As to the GS 650, I thought that since I have rekindled my love affair with motorbikes, I would share one of my fave bikes. This would have been in about 1996, not that long after my Gpz met with an accident and my brother got fed up with me borrowing his bike. I saw it advertised as having been in an accident and for sale for 200 pounds.
As you can see it was a little worse for wear and I recall that the black paint finish had been mixed with sand or something like that. And as I wheeled it off the trailer, my then wife was not impressed at all as I took this 'thing' (her words) into the garage.
The thing with me, is that when someone tells me I am wasting my time or it can't be done, then that motivates me to prove otherwise. As you can see I started to strip the paint off the tank but it was a real pig, I don't know what was on there but I ended up taking it to be sand blasted.
I did most of the work I could with replacement forks, headlight, levers, clocks, mudguards etc. The seat was a real find, apparently it had come off a Harley? I paid 25 pounds for it from a car boot sale some where. Then when I had everything ready, I had to decide what colour to do it in? Everyone at the time seemed to be doing the matt black thing, so I decided to go for a 50s colour, which after much trial and error, I sprayed myself.
Just a little bit of a difference, total time taken about 6 months on and off.
The guy I bought it off, told me it had been bored out to a 670cc? I never knew for sure but it used to go like the clappers and it had a great exhaust note with the short pipe on it as pictured, although I used to have this trumpet exhaust that I had to put on for the mot (warrent) ugly as sin it was, so needless to say it didn't stay on for long.
It was the 90s before anyone says anything lol
