Road Riding in Christchurch, NZ
February 25th 2007 09:07
Hello
This is a post for any overseas readers or interested local readers. It has been a real hot day in the Garden City, so thought I would go for a ride to Sumner and back, as thats a nice smooth run.
Looking towards Redcliffs and the Port Hills (roads quiet at 9.30am)
You find a great number of road cyclists along here as you can do a great circuit around the hills or through to Lyttleton.
The weather was nice and warm but bit of an Easterly breeze blowing at times and the one thing I have noticed, is when I am riding my road bike and I pass someone going the other way, then they usually acknowledge you, but if I am on my mtb they dont, strange huh?
Anyway rode into Sumner and stopped at Coffee Culture whic for overseas readers is a great chain of coffee places around NZ.
Now this is a trim latte made with green milk, colour of top not the milk lol and it cost $3.50 nz
which converted roughly to UK pounds would be 1.25 and I know from being there the other year, you can't get a nice coffee in the UK for that.
Rest of day pottered around, gardening etc before going to have a practice in the local cricket nets with a mate. Well I don't think I have bowled or batted for nearly 10 yrs so feeling it now and guess will feel it tomorrow also.
Will leave with a thought for the day
'Don't put all your eggs in one basket'
Hal
Ps And if you are reading this Bill or should I say the Thunderbolt Kid? Your book is funny
Cheers
