Canterbury People - 'Mike the daffodil guy'

Canterbury People is a new online feature which I am developing to showcase Canterbury and its diversity of people.
Over the last couple of weeks as I have been driving along Hawke St, New Brighton, I have seen someone selling daffodils on the side of the road. So today as I was driving past, I thought I would stop and find out what the story was.
H 'So tell me how long have you been selling flowers here for?'
M I have been selling here every spring for the last five years now
H How did you get into this kind of thing?
M A friend of mine was doing it and one day asked if I wanted to have a go? And I have been doing it ever since
H What is the best thing you like about doing this?
M I guess it would have to be meeting different people and also being outside most of the day (Mike waves at most cars that go by with more than one turning around to get a couple of bunches of flowers)
H How long will you stay down here in Hawke St?
M Been here about three weeks now, so guess I have another week to go
Thanks for your time Mike, so if you want some cheap daffs at $1 bunch then pop down to New Brighton although Mike has a day off tomorrow (Sunday)
