Mark 3 & Mark 4 Ford Cortina
May 10th 2007 09:09
Hi everyone
It's strange isn't it as now everyone has nice modern cars, the urge is there to buy a classic retro car. 20 years ago my first car was a Mk 4 Ford Cortina and I was looking on Trade Me this week and there were a few Mk4 & 5s for sale, although what I really would like is the classic twin headlight Mk3 with the funky retro 70s style, very very cool! Tonight I had a look on the net and found this fantastic example:
Now this is a 2 door and I expect it's a rare example as I can't recall ever seeing that many in the UK. This was on a Ford owners site and is the same colour as my four door example I had after passing my test. Hmmmm saw one for sale tonight for $2500, local but haven't got the space or the money at the moment
But intend to pick one up sooner or later as they are easy to work on and fix and I have owned 4 of them over the years, ranging from the basic 1.6L 4speed, 2.0GL auto, 2.0Ghia auto, 2.3V6 auto(took out 2.3 and put a 2.8 from a Granada in it) bit of a street sleeper and went like the clappers from the lights hehe
But I would really love a good condtion Mk3, and for all you ladies out there, it's a guy thing.
Hal

It's a site that's gotta be worthy of a real good look!
