Kiwiauthor's Fashion Tips -Cutler Jeans

Hi everyone
You know when you have that favorite item of clothing, that one thing you wear all the time and then when it finally gives up the ghost or you spill oil on it, you have to try and replace it?
Well that was me this weekend, I decided to replace my fave pair of Firetrap jeans before they are totally worn out.
But then I had to decide with what? There are so many brands out there with various styles, cuts, wash finishes, it's hard to know where to start? So after spending time at the Armageddon Expo, I spent Saturday pm wandering around various malls looking for that pair of jeans that had that 'cool' factor. That evening after coming home empty handed, I thought I would wander around the central city shops, with first point of call being Ballantynes.
And guess what, I found that pair of jeans I had been searching for.
Now these are part of the 07 winter collection by Cutler, which so happens to be a local company. I have been a fan of their clothing for quite a while now as I find the quality of the fabrics and construction stand up very well with the fast modern lifestyle that we live in and have yet to be disappointed with any garment purchased.
This style is the Dylan jean, colour cyclone, but what really caught my eye was the detailing on the back pocket.
Very cool!!
But it's not only the outside detailing which should be mentioned but also the attention paid to the inside, which considering this isn't normally going to be seen is a very nice touch, which again shows the quality of the brand.
So very good value for $149.00
Now in case you are wondering about the fashion tips title? I do have a little bit of a background in the fashion trade and have picked up the odd tip here and there, thought it might be interesting to pass them on.
When you are buying clothes, you should always have some core items such as jeans, shoes, jacket. as these tend to be a little more expensive than, t shirts, shirts or knitwear.
With shoes I always go for the best quality that I can afford, as even though they might cost more in the beginning, they last longer, are better for your feet and also easier to repair.
A good pair in black and another pair in brown are a good investment to any wardrobe as is the classic short black jacket and brown leather jacket. These can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
Other items that seem to be over looked are belts, don't wear a black belt with brown shoes and vice versa as not a good look, these should always match the colour of your shoes. Another item is buy yourself a nice watch, I have about five and these range from a really cool and funky dress watch, to a couple of classic styles, to your outdoors sports watch.
To finish off your wardrobe, buy a couple of shirts or knit wear, trying to find styles that you can mix and match, so you don't get stuck only being able to wear the shirt with a certain pair of jeans etc.
If anyone needs any advice, just post me a question in the add comments box and I'll do my best to reply.
Cheers
Hal
