Food Review - Poseidon Restaurant & Bar, Sumner, Christchurch
December 22nd 2007 07:06
Some friends of mine organised a mid morning brunch at the Posiedon restaurant and as I hadn't been here before, thought 'That sounds like a plan'. Upon entering our group of four was shown to our table and asked if we would like drinks while we looked through the menu.
After ordering we were then given time to choose our meals without being hassled. I decided to have the Smoked Salmon omelette, whilst my friends chose eggs and bacon on toast or the pancakes. The food arrived quickly and I have to say that I was very impressed with the presentation of mine and the amount of salmon provided. I hoped it tasted as good as it looked and I wasn't to be disappointed as the flavour of the salmon, pesto, brie and onion was just so good and each mouthful was a real enjoyment to savour.
'Very tasty'
My friends also had high praise for their meals and the attentive, pleasant staff and we finished off with some excellant coffee. So between us the meal came to $100, which wasn't bad for two wines, four coffees and four meals.
So if you area out and about in Sumner, the Posiden Restaurant is well worth a visit.
