Christchurch Weather Eye

Hi everyone
On the way home tonight, I could see that it was going to be a fab sun set, so rushed home, grabbed my camera (new one) and headed to a local vantage point.
The weather this week in the Garden City has been so nice, warm and sunny, quite pleasant really although expect we will pay for it soon when winter really hits us.
Still hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I did taking them.
Thought for the day: 'Wear expensive shoes, belts & ties but buy them in a sale'

I am wanting to start a blog of my own but am unsure what to write about. You seem to have such a busy life, horse riding, bike riding, writing.
I have few hobbies so might have to get join up some more things. Currently run a bug studies group for children, and a cooking group, really an effort to meet more friends in NZ also.
Do you have any ideas for me ?

Hi JJ, thanks for the comments and i hope the camera turns out to be okay, although it came with a big user manual, so will have to sit and read through that.
As to your blog, I started mine, mainly to give my fiction writing a good foundation, as when you send off to a publisher, they usually want you to have had loads of articles or stories printed etc, so thought this would be a good option whilst keeping editorial control.
Start off simple, eg what do you do? Before blogging I was reading a book a fortnight, so that gave me something to write about, when you watch a movie, review that. You will find the more you blog, the more it opens your mind to posibilities and you start looking at things in a different light.
I would pick a simple tag, not your name( i did that first, but remember once on the net, its an open domain and always on there). I never mention where I work, family or too much personal details as you never know?
Why don't you take photos and put a recipe on once a week, eg Indian meal in easy stages as I always learn quicker by seeing rather than reading a lot of boring text.
What are your other hobbies? Don't worry too much at first as if you read my early posts, you will see how much they have improved over time as you work out what is the best format for you.
I try not to get drawn into what I call 'National Enquirer' blogging, eg shock posts just to get hits on the site. it's good to be able to express yourself, but if you wouldn't saything to that persons face, then I feel you shouldn't put it on the net.
But then thats just me, I intend for my blog to be taken seriously not just a rant page.
But seriously JJ, you have made the first step, so that good and everything will come in time.
I might start up an ask Kiwiauthor help post if there is enough interest, so if anyone has any questions or need advice in any field, leave a question as a comment and I will combine them together in a post, just leave initials etc . Anything rude or dodgy won't be answered
Cheers
Hal
