Christchurch Earthquake Sept 2010

4.30am on Sat 3rd Sept and I was awoken by the bed shaking, at first I thought, 'what the hell is my cat doing, only to realise it was something much more. No power, so made my way into the kitchen and my flatmates were there too, so we just rode it out until it stopped. Realised that I wasn't prepared as couldn't find my candles, torches or anything useful.
I had a course at 8am so went into the city and the following pics show the scene that awaited me.
