Boobs and Bikes draw crowds in Christchurch
March 2nd 2007 04:02
Hi Everyone
This weekend, is the start of a 3 day Erotica expo in Christchurch and as per usual with these kind of things, there was a boobs and bikes drive by. Now it seems that the police were swamped with calls this morning from people saying they didn't want it to go ahead, resulting in annoucements over the radio, saying not to call them. Must say bit silly really as non emergency calls would have clogged up their system somewhat?
Anyway, the circuit started from Eric Wood Motorcycles and drew a pretty big crowd.
Not too sure what everyone had come to look at but while waiting for the guests to arrive, I took the opportunity to check out some of the bikes.
As the crowd were waiting, TVOne news turned up but by the looks of things, they seemed bemused by it all?
Then the guests turned up and that caught everyones attention.
A couple of colleagues asked me what i thought of them? To be honest, exactly what you would expect, nothing more nothing less really. Althought it was funny to see all the school kids running along Tuam St after the bikes, taking topless photos with their phones etc.
Now there will be a lot of people who will complain about it, which is fair enough but then again it was bit of an anti climax ( excuse the pun) as you see more on tv nowadays and people walk past adults shops on the main street, so hard to say athough I wouldn't take any young children of mine past those shops if I could help it. So even though loathe to say it but I couldn't see what all the fuss was about really, just a bit of showmanship to advertise the show. Come next weekend, they will all have been forgotten I should imagine?
And of course I was only there so I could report it as news on my blog lol
